Provided is a switch that makes it easy to form a hermetically sealed enclosure. Said switch contains the following inside an arc-extinguishing enclosure (102): a pair of fixed contacts (104A, 104B) kept at a prescribed separation from each other; and a movable contact (106) provided so as to be able to contact and separate from the pair of fixed contacts. The arc-extinguishing enclosure (102) comprises the following: a barrel-shaped metal body (103) with an open top; an insulating holding member (105) that holds the pair of fixed contacts, which are disposed on the inside-surface side of the barrel-shaped metal body, opposite the movable contact; and a barrel-shaped resin cover (107) that has an open bottom end and covers the pair of fixed contacts and the movable contact from the open-end side of the barrel-shaped metal body. An adhesive is used to seal the perimeter of the open end of the resin cover (107) to the bottom surface of the barrel-shaped metal body (103).
