<p>Provided is a method for producing alumina which is capable of preventing generation of reagglomerated particles and contamination and with which high purity alumina that has less agglomerated particles and less foreign matter can be obtained. The present invention comprises: a calcining step (S11) of calcining aluminum hydroxide, which is obtained by hydrolyzing aluminum alkoxide and has an accumulation pore volume (pore radius in the range of 0.01 to 1 mum) of 0.6 mL/g or more measured by a method of mercury penetration, and generating an alumina calcined body; and a pulverizing step (S12) of pulverizing the alumina calcined body using an air flow pulverizer with the speed at which the alumina calcined body passes through a pulverizing chamber of the air flow pulverizer being 500 m/s or more.</p> |
