PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To confine contaminated materials containing radioactive substances at a concentration of radioactivity exceeding a measurement lower limit, in a stable state.SOLUTION: Contaminated materials containing radioactive substances at a concentration of radioactivity exceeding a measurement lower limit are mixed in low-melting-point materials that are molten at a temperature lower than a boiling point of the radioactive substances, and the mixture is cooled and solidified to obtain a solidified body. The low-melting-point materials in which the contaminated materials are mixed are kneaded such that the contaminated materials are uniformly dispersed in the low-melting-point materials. The contaminated materials contain one or more selected from, for example, mud, soil, sand, rubble, incineration ash, and sludge. Low-melting-point glass can be used as the low-melting-point materials. The low-melting-point material includes at least one of tar, pitch, polyacrylonitrile, and asphalt. This invention is about the solidified bodies obtained by the production method. Further, this invention is about a method for producing crushed aggregates obtained by crushing the solidified bodies, and the produced crushed aggregates. |
