The device has a clamping unit (9) including a head part (31) and a base part i.e. integral part of a battery box, at module sides (8) that lie opposite to each other. The head part and the base part are connected with each other by a clamping element, where the head part is adjusted in a clamping position, in which a battery module (3) is braced between the head part and the base part. The head part of the clamping unit is designed as a clamping lever that is pivoted in the clamping position and attached with a lever arm at a lever nose of the clamping unit.
