CELL EQUALIZATION DEVICE AND METHOD

A first balancing circuit (104) equalizes voltages of cells (102) in a stack (103) among stacks (103) in a collection of stacks (103) that comprise a fixed number of serially connected cells (102) constituting a cell pack (101). A second balancing circuit (105) equalizes the voltages between the stacks (103). A voltage monitoring unit (106) monitors the voltage of the cells (102) and detects the voltage as a digital signal value. A balancing control unit (107) is operated by selecting either of the first balancing circuit (104) or the second balancing circuit (105) using digital signal processing on the basis of the voltage value of the cells (102) detected by the voltage monitoring unit (106).
