PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption in displaying an image including a portion that remains unchanged.SOLUTION: An image comparison unit 37 compares and judges consistent parts with inconsistent parts in two pieces of successive image data in line unit. A refresh controller 33 sets a low refresh rate for lines in the consistent parts, and sets a high refresh rate for lines in the inconsistent parts. A timing generator 34 generates driving timing on the basis of the refresh rates set for respective lines.
