PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid step-out of a motor of a paper sheet-conveying portion by devising a method for passing a paper sheet from a paper sheet-adjusting portion to an image forming portion during a both-side printing mode while ensuring productivity of the image forming portion.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming portion 10 which forms an image on one face of a paper sheet fed from a paper sheet one side passing path 21, and conveys the paper sheet after fixing to a paper sheet both side passing path 26; a paper sheet-adjusting portion 20 which adjusts curve of the paper sheet to be fed to the image forming portion 10 in a paper sheet width direction with respect to a conveying direction; a paper sheet-conveying portion 30 which is provided at an upstream side of the paper sheet-adjusting portion 20 at the paper sheet both side passing path 26 and which conveys the paper sheet on which an image is formed on one face to the paper sheet-adjusting portion 20 using a conveying roller; and a control portion which controls the paper-sheet adjusting portion 20 to alternately convey the paper sheet fed from the paper sheet one side passing path 21 and the paper sheet fed from the paper sheet both side passing path 26 to the image forming portion 10 and releases press-contacting of the conveying roller of the sheet conveying portion 30 after detecting arrival of the paper sheet at the paper sheet-adjusting portion 20. |
