PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably prevent hydrogen of metal hydride from being reduced in metal sodium, in a metal hydride control rod.SOLUTION: A metal hydride control rod 1 comprises: metal hydride 3 loaded inside a stainless steel pipe 2; and sodium 4 provided in a gap between the stainless steel pipe 2 and the metal hydride 3, and is formed, in an inner peripheral surface of the stainless steel pipe 2, with a coating layer made of a material selected from metal hydride, except aluminum oxide, whose Gibbs free energy is positive with respect to the sodium 4. |
