In an ultrasound diagnostic device (100) as laid out in the embodiment, a direction assessment unit (16a) assesses a movement direction of an ultrasound probe (1). A scan control unit (16c) controls a transceiving unit so as to repeatedly perform a first scan which transmits and receives an ultrasound signal to and from a first direction so as to collect first image data, and a second scan which transmits and receives the ultrasound signal to and from a second direction that is slanted diagonally in the movement direction with respect to the first direction so as to collect second image data. An image combination unit (14b) generates panoramic image data combining a plurality of first image data collected by the first scan. A display control unit (16d), during scanning, displays the second display data upon a display unit together with the panoramic image data or the first image data.
