PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable reading of commodity information without largely changing an operation procedure between a commodity with a barcode and a commodity with no barcode.SOLUTION: A commodity reading apparatus has a function to recognize, from an image captured by an image capturing unit, a commodity included in the image, and a function to recognize a data code attached to the commodity included in the image from the image, and can switch between them by switching means. The commodity reading apparatus outputs information on the commodity recognized by commodity recognition processing or information on the data code recognized by data code recognition processing to a POS terminal. |
