This ultraviolet ray sterilization device has: a vessel into which a liquid is injected; an ultraviolet ray radiating unit provided with a solid-state light-emitting element, which emits ultraviolet rays that can deactivate viruses and bacteria within the liquid, and a protruding section that is protruded into the vessel and radiates ultraviolet rays from the solid-state light-emitting element into the liquid; and a scatterer supply unit that supplies, to around the protruding section, scatterers that scatter ultraviolet rays.
