[Problem] To automatically determine a main photographic subject from a captured image. [Solution] A global motion representing the motion of an entire image is detected and local motions representing the motions of each region within the image are detected. The main photographic subject is determined on the basis of the global motion and the local motions. For example, the main photographic subject is determined by comparison on the basis of detection results for regions in which it is determined that the local motion is not similar to the global motion. |
