PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air battery which maintains the diffusion of oxygen to the interior of an air electrode for a long time during discharging thereby attaining large discharge capacity.SOLUTION: An air battery includes: a negative electrode 11 including at least a metal; an air electrode 12; and an electrolyte layer 13 provided between the negative electrode 11 and the air electrode 12. Discharge overvoltage of a negative electrode side portion in the air electrode 12 is set lower than discharge overvoltage of the other portion. For example, the air electrode 12 is divided into a first potion at the negative electrode 11 side and a second portion at the opposite side. A first catalyst having first discharge overvoltage is placed in the first portion, and a second catalyst having second discharge overvoltage higher than the first discharge overvoltage is placed in the second portion. |
