[Class 37] An electric condenser 8 or resistance is enclosed in a flattened tubular container 1 of ceramic material or glass having convex edge portions 4, the open ends of the container being hermetically sealed by metal end caps 11 soldered to metallised portions of the container. The caps 11 may have flanges 11b fitting over and soldered to metallised portions 5 and 10, or alternatively the caps themselves or flanges located inwardly of the periphery of the caps may fit inside and be soldered to the container. The leads 2 may pass through openings 11c in the caps to which they are soldered. According to the Provisional Specification, the ends may be sealed by thin metal strips, the end faces only of the container being metallised. The condenser may be a stacked foil and mica or a silvered mica condenser. Specification 566,718, [Group II], is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 440,948, [Group XXXV].
