A nonaqueous electrolyte lithium secondary battery is provided to improve initial reversible efficiency and lifetime characteristics by forming a stable coating on the surface of a negative electrode active material. A nonaqueous electrolyte lithium secondary battery comprises a negative electrode which comprises a lithium vanadium-based oxide negative electrode active material; a positive electrode which comprises a positive electrode active material capable of intercalating and deintercalating a lithium ion; and a nonaqueous electrolyte which comprises an additive containing at least one bond selected from the group consisting of a Si-C bond, a Si-S bond, a Si-N bond and a Si-O bond, a lithium salt, and a nonaqueous organic solvent. |
