This resolver device (14) is configured from: a microcomputer (1) that outputs to a drive circuit (3) a control signal for driving a motor (4); a sensor unit (5) (resolver) that outputs a detection value (sine signal and cosine signal) in accordance with the rotational angle of the motor (4); and a signal circuit (13) provided between the microcomputer (1) and the sensor unit (5). The microcomputer (1) determines that there is an abnormality when the sensor unit (5) detection value is outside a first normal range, and thereafter, determines that the sensor unit (5) has reverted to normality when the detection value is in a second normal range and is present in a plurality of regions resulting from segmenting the first normal range.
