The device (100) has a fuel cell stack (104) comprising electrochemical active cathode electrolyte-anode units, and a reformer (102) i.e. starting burner, for producing combustible gas for the fuel cell stack from output fuel. The combustible gas manufactured by the reformer and oxidant are supplied to the fuel cell stack. Heat exchangers (108) allow the combustible gas upstream by cathode electrolyte-anode units. The heat exchangers comprise a chemical active substance for changing the composition of the combustible gas. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a fuel cell device. |
