PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a gradient of an electric field applied between electrodes that drive a liquid crystal and to apply an optimal electric field between the electrodes by increasing an interval between the electrodes.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes: a first electrode 101 formed on a substrate 100; an insulating film 102 formed on the substrate 100 and the first electrode 101; a semiconductor film 103 formed on the insulating film 102 and including a source, a channel region and a drain of a thin film transistor 121; a second electrode 112 including first opening patterns 112a and 112b, located on the upper layer side of the semiconductor film 103 and above the first electrode 101; and a liquid crystal 114 provided above the second electrode 112. |
