PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus including a tray capable of keeping a projecting position of an extension plate in spite of unintended contact of a user while suppressing the damage of the tray.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a housing, and a tray installed to be turnable between a first position where it projects from the housing and a second position where it comes close to the housing. The tray includes a baseplate having a first base end where a first turning part is formed, a placing base having a second base end where a second turning part is formed, and the extension plate movable along the baseplate. The baseplate includes a stopper which hinders the movement of the extension plate going toward an edge and also retains the extension plate at the projecting position where the extension plate projects from the edge of the baseplate, and the extension plate retained at the projecting position exists at a separate position where it is separated from the baseplate. When the tray is turned from the first position to the second position, the edge of the placing base adds force toward the baseplate to the extension plate, and thereby releasing the extension plate from retention by the stopper. |
