What is disclosed is a process for coating half parts for packaging comprising the following steps: a half part of sheet metal, in particular ultrafine sheet metal, is provided; the half part is placed on a receptacle; at least a first masking means is placed on the half part, in order to at least partially outwardly conceal the half part; a powder coating is applied to the outer side of the half part, and the powder coating is melted.
