A seat 18 for a saddle comprising a one piece seat member 84 having a pommel 86 and a cantle 88. The underside of the seat member is configured to conform to the shape of the saddle body, and the upper side is configured to the form of a seat for a saddle. The seat member is preferably made from expanded polyurethane and includes a sleeve 90 glued thereto formed of leather. A saddle incorporating the seat and an additional stirrup hanger is also claimed.
