PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel material having higher protonic conduction and heat resistance.SOLUTION: A garnet-type ionic conductive oxide includes Li, H (proton), at least one element A selected from alkaline earth metals and lanthanoid elements, and at least one element B which is capable of being coordinated by 6 oxygen atoms and is selected from transition elements, and typical elements belonging to 12 group and 15 group. The oxide may be represented by a basic composition formula: (LiH)ABO, wherein X and Y satisfy X=24-3×A'-2×B' and 0<Y<X when the valence number of an element constituting A is taken to be A' and the valence number of an element constituting B is taken to be B'. The oxide may be fabricated by a hydrogen substitution step of heat treating a garnet-type oxide containing Li, the element A and the element B in a mixed gas containing steam at a predetermined substitution temperature. |
