<p>The device has an image capture unit comprising image pickup units (12, 14). The image pickup units are arranged downstream to an image analysis unit (20) and formed such that spacing information data is produced from comparison of objects in a detection area. The analysis unit is arranged downstream to another image analysis unit (30). An evaluation unit (40) is arranged downstream to the latter analysis unit such that a presence detection signal (42) is generated based on comparison of correspondence degree with a coincidence signal (38) that corresponds to pattern image data.</p> |
