PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel which hardly causes the deterioration of performances such as rotation performance and braking force, even when an outer force is added to the side portion of a reel body. SOLUTION: The spinning reel 10 has the reel body 12 and a braking device 90. The reel body has a pair of frames 14a, 14b and a side plate 16b for covering and protecting the frame 14b on the side opposite to a handle 30 for winding up a line on a spool 20 among the frames. The braking device integrally has a support member 92 capable of being attached to or detached from the frame on the side opposite to the handle, a bearing portion 94 disposed on the support member and rotatably supporting the spool between the frames of the reel body, and a braking mechanism 96 disposed on the support member and used for braking the rotation of the spool.
