PURPOSE: A power supply unit for a charging operation using an inverter is provided to be used as a rapid charger of a secondary battery for an electric vehicle by generating large DC. CONSTITUTION: A main controller (300) displays the charging state and the charging alarm of a secondary battery on a monitor (310). The main controller controls a charging operation based on a key input. A digital signal processor (400) generates a first pulse width modulation signal and a second pulse width modulation signal. A switch driving unit (500) outputs the first and second pulse width modulation signals through each photocoupler. An inverter (600) outputs DC converted by a first rectifying and smoothing unit (200) to the secondary battery that is a charging target.
