PURPOSE: A surface lighting device generates a light of different color by using an LED of the same type, thereby providing an effect of aging all LEDs in the same ratio. CONSTITUTION: A light pipe (12) comprises an upper surface (74), a lower surface (75) and an edge surface (76). The light pipe is positioned to fully reflect a predetermined conical light on the upper surface and to convert a portion of light at a certain angle so that the direction converting portion of light can escape through the upper surface. A light source comprises a plurality of LED dies. A substrate is arranged on the same plane as the light pipe and reflects the light source to the edge surface of light pipe. A light converting layer is configured to cover the upper surface. The light converting layer (60) comprises a soluble fluorescent compound.
