Model for protecting flat solar absorbers in case of freezing, for avoiding the piping from fracturing due to the expansion of volume in water when is frozen; this model has been designed to be affordable, of easy construction and easily installed in new or current absorbers. The inventive model mainly includes a flexible plastic piping sealed by the end portions and lengthwise the same and arranged within both heads of the absorber, the construction of the absorber being performed with flexible sills, this allowing the increased water volume to be dampened by those elements upon frozen, thereby avoiding the fracture of the absorber piping. The invention is advantageous in that it is a passive system with no mobile parts, which does not need maintenance or electricity. Unlike current devices: (a) the invention does not use a pump; (b) or a secondary circuit with fluid at a freezing point lower than that of water; (c) or an anti freezing valve for draining the water from the absorber i n case the temperature is reduced down to the freezing point; d) or the need of electronic sensors for controlling the valves and actuators; (e) or larger storage tanks for draining by gravity the water contained in the circuit when the circulation pump is turned off.. (f) or piping specially made for dampening or controlling the freezing within the absorber. The inventive absorber with protection against freezing has been tested within frigorific chambers at -20°C, where the absorber shown no damage once the water inside the same was frozen. |
