<p>Described is a bait release device 1 comprising a first part (body) 2 for connection to a fishing hook 5 and a second part (loop) 3 for connection to fishing bait 6, At least a portion of the first part and/or second part is soluble in water to release a hook and/or bait connected to the device. The soluble material may comprises polyvinylalcohol. The second part may be smaller than the first part such that bait attached to the device will be released before a hook or the first part may be smaller than the second part such that the hook will be released before the bait attached to the device. The first and second parts may be integrally formed. The device may be soluble in water within about 12 to 48 hours.</p> |
