PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light oil composition wherein a weight of a whole PM, the total number of constituting particles, and the number of fine particles are reduced in a diesel exhaust gas, and fuel efficiency is excellent. SOLUTION: This light oil composition comprises 11.0 to 16.0 vol.% of all aromatic components, 2.0 vol.% or less of 2-ring aromatic components, and 2.0 vol.% or less of 3 or more-ring aromatic components, and has a density of 0.80 to 0.82 g/cm<SP>3</SP>at 15°C, a kinematic viscosity of 2.0 to 3.0 mm<SP>2</SP>/s at 30°C, a pour point of -18°C or lower, and a 90% distilling temperature of 280 to 330°C.
