The invention relates to a portable appliance for monitoring the sleep of a test person or patient, in particular for analyzing and treating sleep-related breathing disorders by means of at least one sensor (2), which detects bio-acoustic signals and with which means for fixing in position proximate to the body are associated. The sensor serves to detect sound produced inside the body and comprises at least one voltage supply and a monitoring unit (3) serving to process the signals, and a number of stimulation units (4), which can be activated by the monitoring unit (3) and can provoke in the test person a stimulation counteracting the breathing disorder when a predeterminable acoustic sound pattern is detected. The number of stimulation units (4) is at least two, and the at least one stimulation unit (4) is designed as a mechanical stimulation unit (21) acting mechanically on the test person and the other stimulation unit (4) is designed as an electrical stimulation unit (22) acting electrically on the test person. |
