摘要 PURPOSE: A robot cleaner and a control method thereof are provided to determine abnormal operation of an auxiliary cleaning unit based on the results detected by a second detection part and to control the operation of the auxiliary cleaning unit according to the determined results. CONSTITUTION: A robot cleaner comprises a main body, a first detection part (60), an auxiliary cleaning unit (100), a second detection part (300), and a control part (200). The main body drives on a floor. The first detection part detects obstacles approaching to the main body. The auxiliary cleaning unit is mounted on the main body to be drawn into and out from the main body. The second detection part detects the operation of the auxiliary cleaning unit. The control part determines abnormal operation of the auxiliary cleaning unit based on the results detected by the second detection part and controls the operation of the auxiliary cleaning unit according to the determined results.
