A liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent a tearing effect by adjusting a start timing of an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device to lead a start timing of a GRAM write period. Driving circuits(54,55) drive an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) panel(56). A GRAM(Graphic Random Access Memory)(52) stores digital video data. A timing controller(53) supplies the digital video data from the GRAM to the driving circuits and controls the driving circuits. A system(51) supplies the digital video data and a synchronous signal to the GRAM and the timing controller, respectively, at a data transfer speed between 4.5 and 5.53 MHz. The timing controller controls the driving circuit, such that a data display start timing of the LCD panel leads a data transmission timing of the system. |
