A digital camera apparatus for providing a function for deleting a part of an image region and a method therefor are provided to offer a function capable of more easily and conveniently editing an image to a user by providing the function capable of deleting a part of the image in a camera. If a user selects a color, a camera recognizes a selected position and the selected color(420). The camera extracts a boundary of the entire image, searches a region including the selected position, and selects whether to search a color in any region(430,440,450). If a search range is determined, the camera checks the color selected by the user in the corresponding range and a color of the search range. If the color of the search range is identical to the selected color, the camera judges the search range as a deletion region(460). If the color of the search range is different from the selected color, the camera judges the search range as a region which is not deleted(470). If the search of the color is ended, the camera displays whether a region of any degree will be deleted as a dotted line or the change of the color to the user. |
