A scan operation indicator and a scanner having the indicator are provided to concentrate light on an indicating unit according to convex lens characteristic of a convex light projecting face of a light guide member to maximize optical efficiency in the indicating unit. A scan operation indicator includes a light source(30), an indicating unit(50), and a light guide member(40). The light source is attached to a scan unit and emits light when a scan operation is performed. The indicating unit is set in a direction in which the scan unit is moved. The light guide member guides light from the light source to the indicating unit and has a light projecting face(41). |
