612,984. Door locks. MORRIS MOTORS, Ltd., and COOK, R. WELTON-. June 13, 1946, No. 17676. [Class 44] A sliding-bolt door lock has a bolt actuating member 9 pivoted to the bolt 2 at 10, and normally engageable for operation of the bolt by the outside handle, but movable by the inside handle to a position in which it is not engageable. The member 9 is coupled to the inside handle by a link 16 and a slot and pin connection 17, 18, giving an amount of lost motion so that this handle is not moved by retraction of the bolt. When the inside handle is moved in the direction opposite to opening the member 9 is turned from the engageable position (shown) in which it is normally maintained by the spring 23 engaging a notch 24, to a position in which the nose 11 is not engageable by the extension 12 of the outside handle which is therefore rendered ineffective. A rubber buffer 27 is provided in front of the bolt. |
