PURPOSE: A thermal print head and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the print quality of the thermal print by efficiently transferring the heat of a heating resistor. CONSTITUTION: A thermal print head comprises a substrate(100), a glaze layer(120), a common electrode(140), an individual electrode(160), a heating resistor(180), an electrostatic discharge pattern insulating layer(200), an electrostatic discharge pattern, and an insulation protecting layer(240). The glaze layer is formed on the substrate. The common electrode is formed on the substrate and is electrically connected to the heating resistor. The individual electrode is electrically connected to the heating resistor. The heating resistor is formed on the glaze layer and is electrically connected to the common electrode and the individual electrode. The electrostatic discharge pattern insulating layer electrically insulates the common electrode and the electrostatic discharge pattern. The electrostatic discharge pattern is formed on the substrate and the electrostatic discharge pattern insulating layer. |
