A method for controlling a mobile terminal according to a subscriber authentication module card is provided to prevent malfunction of a mobile terminal caused as insertion of an SIM card into a mobile terminal or separation of the SIM from the mobile terminal fails to be recognized. If a controller of a mobile terminal detects that the mobile terminal is in a polling period(S101), the controller transmits a polling signal to a connector of a SIM card to check whether the SIM card has been inserted(S103). If the controller detects that the SIM card has been inserted(S105) and if the SIM card has been separated before the polling period(S107), the controller resets power of the mobile terminal(S109) in order to allow the mobile terminal to be changed from an idle mode to a phone mode(S110). |
