The invention relates to a transport unit, such as a container, a railway carriage, a trailer of a vehicle combination and a movable loading platform, the transport unit comprising a loading base (7) and a support arrangement for supporting a load (6). The support arrangement comprises at least one support column (8a, 8b, 8d, 8f), whose side is to be placed against the load (6, 6', 6", 6"') to be supported, and tightening means for tightening the support column against the load. In order to allow the structure and type of the transport unit to vary greatly and yet comprise a support arrangement independent of its structure and type, the loading base (7) of the transport unit comprises a set of locking recesses (9) for fastening the support columns (8a, 8b, 8d, 8f) in a detachable manner to the loading base. The locking recesses (9) comprise fastening means (10) arranged to lock a fastening member (11 a, 11b, 11d, 11f) of the support columns to the locking recess (9) in a detachable manner so that lifting of the support column from the locking recess is prevented when the fastening member is in a locked position. The tightening means comprise an elongated flexible member (16a, 16b, 16d, 16f) and a tightening device (17a, 17b, 17d, 17f) for tightening it in order to tilt the support column in relation to the loading platform and for pressing it against the load (6). |
