PURPOSE: An antibacterial composition containing a Sisymbrium luteum extract is provided to show antibacterial activity against strains including Staphylococcus aureus. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial pharmaceutical composition contains a Sisymbrium luteum extract as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared using a solvent selected among water, C1-C4 alcohols, and a mixture thereof. The extract has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus. An antibacterial quasi-drug composition contains the extract as an active ingredient.
