The temperature sensor (11) has an expansion element in the form of a pipe (13), which contains another expansion element. Both the expansion elements have different thermal expansions. A switching spring base is displaced with a direction component in the longitudinal direction of the rod for adjusting the switching point of a switching spring (20). The position of the switching spring base is locked or fixed by locking unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting a temperature sensor.
