PURPOSE: Novel beta-1,3-1,4-glucanase is provided to have easy handling with high efficiency under a wide range of conditions and to be used in various fields such as glucose production, oligosaccharide production, or ethanol production using decomposed sugar. CONSTITUTION: A protein with the activity of beta-1,3-1,4-glucanase has an amino acid sequence of sequence number 1. A nucleic acid molecule encodes the protein. The nucleic acid has a base sequence of sequence number 2. The protein is derived from Bacillus sp. (accession number KCCM90078). A method for producing beta-1,3-1,4-glucanase comprises the steps of: culturing a transformant; and collecting beta-1,3-1,4-glucanase from the culture.
