PURPOSE: An aqueous ink spread-preventing composition manufactures various paper sheets having excellent printability and preventing printed aqueous ink from being spread. CONSTITUTION: An aqueous ink spread-preventing composition forming an ink-spread-preventing coating layer comprises 5-20 wt% of an ink absorber formed of an inorganic salt-based material or a cationic polymer resin providing hydrophilicity for a hydrophobic surface of raw paper; 1-10 wt% of an organic or inorganic development enhancer; and a residual solvent. The solvent is water. The composition additionally includes 0.1-5 wt% of a preservative. The decoration ribbon includes a paper sheet with the aqueous ink-spread-preventing coating layer.
