PURPOSE: A structure for the basket transferring conveyor of a retort sterilizing apparatus is provided to regularly maintain the tension of a conveyor chain adjacent to a basket which is being shaken. CONSTITUTION: A retort sterilizing apparatus includes a transferring conveyor (30) which has continuous conveyor chains (31,32) and a sprocket (37). The conveyor chains comprise an upper conveyor chain and a lower conveyor chain. The conveyor chains moves inside a track between a pair of direction changing rollers (33) which are placed at the same level back and forth. The sprocket at the center of the direction changing rollers drives the conveyor chains, and is capable of rotating forward and backward. The track comprises the upper track of the upper conveyor chain and the lower track of the lower conveyor. The upper track is formed between the upper ends of the direction changing rollers, and the lower track is formed by the lower ends of the direction changing rollers and the sprocket. The lower conveyor chain has suspension parts (311,312). The suspension parts at both sides of the sprocket are symmetrically formed into circular arcs with predetermined distances. |
