The circuit has a control device for temporarily maintaining circuit in a non-active state and comprising an iterative determination module (20) that iteratively estimates a parameter representing a thermal state of a combustion engine. A subtraction module (23) compares the estimated parameter with a measurement value of the parameter. A modification module (24) and a memory unit (29) correct the estimated parameter based on a comparison result. A standardization module (26), a decision module (27) and another memory unit (28) evaluates whether the corrected parameter is valid or not.
