A cooking device comprises: a body (1); a heating chamber (2) provided within the body (1) and having an open front face; a high-frequency heating means provided within the body (1) and heating an object (4) to be heated contained within the heating chamber (2); and an openable and closable door (5) for covering the front face opening (2a) of the heating chamber. The height (B) of the heating chamber (2) is set to be half or less of the width (A) or the depth of the heating chamber (2), and as a result, a heating time is reduced because energy loss is reduced due to the number of times of reflections of microwaves at the inner wall surfaces of the heating chamber during heating by the microwaves being reduced. |
