PURPOSE: An upgradable display device and a control method thereof are provided to install an upgrade device of the latest version. CONSTITUTION: An external device interface (330) receives upgrade data from an upgrade device. A memory (340) stores the upgrade data and version information of the upgrade device. A controller (360) processes a broadcasting signal. The controller displays the broadcasting signal on a display unit. The controller checks a version and the installation of the upgrade device. The controller grants a control right of the display device to the upgrade device.
