The device has a boring tool (1) e.g. crown, comprising a wall (4). The wall has a cylindrical form in a lower portion around a central axis (Y-Y'), where the wall ends in a side at its lower end. A drive system is utilized for actuating the boring tool in rotation round the central axis. A fastener (9) is utilized for fixing a core (6) in a part e.g. slab, by the boring tool. A reserve mechanism (2) is arranged to be connected to the fastener inside the wall while crossing the tool so that the reserve mechanism is rotated with the boring tool to retain the core. An independent claim is also included for a boring method.
