The method involves supplying a fuel mass (M) inside an internal combustion engine (106) through a feeder. First information (Mi) relative to the fuel mass injected inside the engine from the feeder is derived by using second information (Mc) that is relative to a mass of fuel vapors (M') coming from a circulation channel. Third information (Ma) relative to an allowed mass of air inside the engine is multiplied by fourth information (R) relative to rich air/fuel mixture to obtain fifth information (Mv) relative to mass of theoretical air burn in stoichiometric conditions.
