DEVELOPMENT OF MULTI-END FUNCTIONALIZED HYBRID ORGANOCLAYS USING DIFFERENT ORGANOSILANES AND THEIR ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITIES

PURPOSE: A synthesis of multifunctional organic nanoclay using various organic silane precursors is provided to obtain thermal stability and to overcome non-cytotoxicity of multifunctional organic nanoclay, thereby using the multifunctional organic nanoclay as a composite for a fiber. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial and antifungal composition contains Mg-APTES/PTES clay with thermal stability. Mg-APTES/PTES is a hybrid which is prepared by mixing Mg-APTES/PTES and Mg-PTES and fixing the mixture through a sol-gel reaction with cationic metals. Mg-APTES and Mg-PTES are mixed in a molar ratio of 9:1-1:9. The antibacterial and antifungal composition is used as an ingredient of one hygiene product selected among toothbrushes, interdental brushes, and floss.
