PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face authentication device of a walk-through type, capable of properly discriminating whether or not tailgating is present.SOLUTION: A face image authentication device 10 includes: an imaging part 100 for sequentially acquiring a monitoring image in which a monitoring area is photographed; a storage part 310 for storing registered face images; face detection means 322 for extracting a face area image out of the monitoring image; face tracing means 323 for tracing a face image to group them; authentication discrimination means 324 for comparing, for each grouped data, a face area image included in the grouped data with a registered image to discriminate whether a person in the grouped data is a registered person or unregistered person; and tailgating discrimination means 326 for discriminating, when, in a prescribed period before and after a point of time in which a person in a specific grouped data is determined to be a registered person, another grouped data determined to be an unregistered person exits, persons of the respective grouped data are the same person on the basis of whether or not the respective grouped data are similar, and determining that it is tailgating entry only when it is determined that they are not the same person. |
